So I’ve been trying to branch out in different directions w/ my portraits & seniors have been away I’ve been trying to do that for awhile. I haven’t had as much experience in this avenue, but I know how much fun I’ve had in the past doing them which is why I really want to continue w/ senior portraits. I had the pleasure of meeting Mayah a couple weeks back @ a family portrait session I was shooting. She was a family friend who lived nearby & we hit it off. So I was very excited when she asked me to shoot her senior portrait session!! Again the weather was on our side because it had called for rain, but fortunately held off for us. Mayah was such a great girl to work w/ & was so easy going. The only problem is going to be choosing one for the yearbook because we may have gotten carried away a bit. I hope she had as much as I did…made me wish I had done something like this so long ago for mine!

Hot Spot Family Reunion
Last week I got to meet a wonderful family who was getting together for their mom’s 80th b-day. Since most of the family has migrated to California, it also had a warm family reunion feel to the weekend. One of the families still live here in NY, so this is where everyone decided to come together to meet. Near the home, is a small bunk house they call “hot spot”…which I can say lived up to it’s name the day of the photo session. It was a gorgeous spot though, w/ views of the mountains in front & a field behind w/ wild flowers. They were all such good sports too, but thankfully the cabin provided a nice shady place for us to get some relief from the hot sun that day.
Thank you guys for letting me spend a few hours w/ you last week. I really had a great time & fell in love w/ the area! Hope I can come back for other portrait sessions in the future.
Dulci
After months of having to reschedule, I was finally able to meet up w/ a family who I first photographed when Miss Dulci was firstborn. Now, 9 months later we got a chance to meet up again. Mom decided to have me meet them @ the beautiful grounds of Vanderbuilt Mansion in Hyde Park, NY. It was pretty humid out so we stayed under the trees & out of the sun. It was such a treat for me to get to photograph this little girl again. I grew up w/ her mommy so it’s always nice to get to see your friends having kids. Even though we don’t get to see each other often these days, this was an extra special experience for me.
She was just loving the grass…a little too much for mom @ times. Had to keep picking grass out of her mouth in between shots.
I love it when babies make the funniest expressions & faces. This was my favorite of hers!
Just look @ these cheeks! Makes me just want to reach out & give them a big squeeze!!
I bought this bucket along to try it out for the first time. Miss Dulci wasn’t really into sitting in it, so this was my only shot. But I love it!
Dulci is a pretty serious baby, but we did get a few smiles from her @ times which made me happy!
I also bought a tutu that I haven’t gotten to use either. Dulci was my first model & I just think she looks so cute in it! Makes me want a little girl so bad!!
About an hour into our session, dad finally got to make it for a few shots. By this point Dulci was getting tired & hot, but dad worked his magic so we could get a few family photos!
I love this picture! I asked dad to put Dulci up on his shoulders & she had other ideas. This is her trying to get off his shoulders, guess it wasn’t her thing. LOL
Snuggle time w/ dad. Can you say, daddy’s girl? So stinking cute!
This is Miss Dulci contemplating what to do w/ these flowers.
She quickly caught on & then we had to say goodbye to the flowers before the flowers went goodbye
Thank you to Gina & Mike. I’m so happy we were able to get together & I got to see how much Dulci has changed since I last photographed her. What a gorgeous little girl you have!
Craig & Kristin ~ Olana w/ Love
I got a little behind, but wanted to finish the second e-shoot we had this past Sunday. They wanted something not urban, but w/ fields & flowers. So we decided to take them to Olana State Park just outside of Hudson. As much as I love shooting in Hudson, I was excited to do something a little different. The garden was full of beautiful flowers & everything was lush and green. They bought along their dog, Gisepi who was a rescue dog they got about year & a half ago. He has some issues w/ strangers & other dogs, but I think we won him over. I’m happy they decided to bring him along & include him in some of their shots.
Was diggin the tatoos & blue shoes
The sky got really dark & it actually started to rain a bit. So we took cover in the woods, but it quickly passed over so we could continue on w/ the shoot!
We came across some bushes of wild rasperberries so we took advantage of them & ate a few. Raspberries happen to be my absolute favorite berry! I was super excited about the find!!
I just love this persian style home! It’s so unique & very distinquished. I always look for it when I’m coming across the Catskill Bridge when we head home.
Thank you to Craig & Kristin for spending sometime w/ us & letting us get to know Gisepi too. We had a great time & look forward to your wedding in September!
