John & Bonnie

You’d never think we’ve had such a wet summer with all the gorgeous days we managed to score so far this wedding season. This past Saturday was one of the best days we’ve had yet. Not only was it sunny with blue clouds, the temperature was a perfect 75. They originally had planned to have the ceremony @ the Bard College Chapel, but things changed & they fortunately got this church right down the way on River Road, NY.

We went a little ways down the road to Blithewood for pictures. My second wedding to shoot @ this location. It’s just perfect for a variety of backdrops.

Had to make sure we got a good shot of the shirt. If you hadn’t guessed already, these two are Harley fans. So they utilized the orange & black colors for their color scheme.

This little girl was the bride’s niece who wanted nothing to do with me. Wasn’t interested in having her picture taken, but I did manage to sneak in a couple of cute ones.

I was just loving this cake topper. I was also surprised to hear where the cake was from. She had the cake & cupcakes done @ Sam’s Club. Had no idea they did such a great job on cakes.

Just wanted to say thanks to John & Bonnie for letting us be apart of their special day. Congratulations.

Wedding Anniversary @ the CIA

Happy 9th Anniversary Jesse. Hope you enjoyed your evening & the experience of the Brewery Ommegang. I had a lot of fun keeping the surprise from you & I’m happy that even though we almost didn’t make it, we still managed to have an enjoyable experience & celebrate together.

Camping @ Lake George

So the long awaited time finally arrived for our boys. Their first “real” camping experience. I mention the word real because I believe true camping is roughing it in the wild. Now, I will admit we stayed @ what was pretty much a camping resort, but we did take the opportunity to make it as rough as possible for ourselves. And that we did. The first day was perfect. Sunshine, laying at the beach (which I will mention was about 100 feet from our site), the pool, our site was all set up & nestled under the trees. What could be better? Well, granted there was a storm that night, no problem. Until that is I woke up in the dark after my hand touched a large wet spot on my blanket. I put on my head light & discovered a leak from the top of our tent. We hung a fan from there that obviously was a bad decision. The weight pulled it down to create a nice waterfall onto where I was sleeping. Then only to discover in the morning the boys tent was completely soaked as well. There sleeping bags & pillows were so wet we could ring them out. Not good. So to say the least, our first night wasn’t a well rested one. Day two bought a new day, so we attempted to dry all the bedding & headed to the nearest hardware store & got ourselves a tarp to put over our tents. Of course it didn’t rain again, but at least we were prepared & know next time to be better prepared for rain. The whole experience over all though was exactly how I had hoped. The boys had a blast @ the water, staying up late making smores, riding their bikes, relaxing with a beer in one hand & a burger in the other. It was definitely memorable & we all can’t wait to do it again. So I wanted to share some of the highlights.

Me @ what I did best the whole weekend…eating, eating, & eating again

The grill master, notice the tarp in the back where our tents are hidden

Some views @ the nearby lake

The canoe we never got to use, sorry Jesse…next time

The boys with their cousins. They were camping about 10 min away

Wild mushrooms that looked like flowers. Wanted to make a bouquet with them

On our way home, stopped @ Lake George Village. As you can see, rain was in the forecast, again
