Alisa & Jack

Another gorgeous day we had on Saturday for another beautiful wedding in upstate NY. This one was held @ Apple Barn Farm. There was a threat of rain, but it never came. Just sun & a cool breeze. It got a bit windy for the outdoor ceremony, the bride even lost her veil. It made for great memories though & everyone had a great time. I just love that this bride put so much effort into making their wedding day, a very special & personal day as well. Most of the people she used were from one of my new favorite sites @ Etsy. From the bridesmaids necklaces which each had a diamond from her grandmothers ring, to the cake toppers, to the bouquets, hair pieces, boutonnieres, & dog collar which I think were my favorite handmade accessories. Hand crafted using fabrics & buttons, each was truly unique piece to treasure for years to come. The bride was so nice as to have a pin made for me. I was really excited about that (thanks, Alisa). The dresses were designed by Yvonne, who is based in Brooklyn where you can design your own depending on your wants & needs. This was truly a wedding all who came & were a part of will remember especially because of all the love that was put into it so as to make it personal for all.

Laura & Edward

What a fun group I had to work with this passed Friday in East Hanover, NJ. It was a bit on the warmer side, but everyone was a trooper & stuck it out despite the hot sun. The ceremony location was a beautiful garden outside the reception venue @ Ravello’s. You could even hear the waterfall in the background. This crowd definitely knows how to party. From start to finish it was fun, fun, fun. Thank you all for allowing us to share in your wedding day.

First Fashion Shoot

I had the amazing privilege of assisting on my very first fashion photo shoot. It was located near a horse ranch in Gardner, NY. The day started off windy & cold, with the chance of more rain. So we waited to see what would happen while Kiki got hair & makeup done. By 1PM it was perfect out so we headed for the shoot. It was a gorgeous location. I had butterflies in my stomach the whole day from excitement of what I was experiencing. This was truly a once in a lifetime chance for me, though I hope it comes along again. If not, I am happy as a clam with what I got to do.

An Evening with Family

I had the great privilege of photographing some of my relatives today. It’s always fun to work with people you know well & who feel comfortable with you immediately in front of the camera. They chose one of my favorite locations for the shoot near Bard College, Blithewood Estates. We ended up shooting later in the evening today, but it worked out to our advantage. The sun was lower in the sky so there was a nice warm light in the photographs. Nesly’s parents were visiting from Honduras so they got in on some shots as well. And can you believe the locks on that little Andrew. He was born with that same full head of jet black hair. I just love it. My sons had come along for the fun, but little Linet had such a hard time trying to stay focused on the pictures when all she wanted to do was run around with them. She was a real trooper though for sticking it out as long as she did. Thanks you guys for a great night ( dinner was great too ).

Tulip Fest 2009

This past Saturday we headed up north to Albany for the annual Tulip Festival. We missed it last year & I’m so glad we were able to go this time. The day couldn’t have been better & the boys had a blast. From the hundreds of craft & art vendors, to the huge choices of food vendors, live music, children’s activities including pony rides, bounce house, face painting, balloon making (which even we got in on the fun) & much more. This was definitely a great event to bring the whole family. Not to mention the highlight of the thousands of assorted tulip beds to admire. A day well spent.

Unique Hair Pieces for the Bride

If you are one of those brides to be who are looking for something a little less traditional than a veil, but still want something in their hair, you must take a look at the Etsy website for handmade wedding hair pieces. These are truly a unique alternative to the traditional veil. There are many other items to check out as well, but I wanted to highlight these great pieces.

Kristine & Kevin’s Wedding

To kick off the first wedding of the season, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect! What a beautiful spot too @ the Wilderstein historic site in Rhinebeck. Fantastic views of the Hudson River & gorgeous bushes in full bloom. It was a real blast & we are so happy to have been a part of it with them. These two really know how to have fun & enjoy life to the fullest. We had gotten a sneak peak of this couple back in November @ another wedding & I knew then they were going to be great fun to work with. Thank you to Kristine & Kevin for allowing us to capture your beautiful day.

All the cousins

Well, it actually happened. It’s very rare these days to get a shot of all my parents grand kids. I thought it’d be fun too to do the shot according to their ages, even though it’s backwards. As you can see though, Mason who is second in line, is taller than Finlay who is 6 weeks older. He’s going through quite a bit of a growths spurt you could say. Jordan too, he’s growing like a weed. He towers over them all now. Hope you are happy with this one mom.
