I got to meet up w/ one of my  couples this past weekend for an engagement session. When it came time to decide on the location for the shoot, they decided to go w/ the place where they were having their wedding, Apple Barn Farm, one of my favorite venues to shoot! So I was super excited about this shoot because I had only shot weddings there, never an e-shoot. And what a beautiful day we had for it!

These two had no problem showing their playful side & let their inner child come out & play!

I think this was my favorite shot of the session! Love it when my couples let loose & have fun!!

I was happy  too that they brought their dog along & included him in a couple of their shots! He is the ring bearer btw, which I can’t wait to see!!

So last week, my dream of doing a photo shoot in Hudson came true! Thanks to one of our clients who live in NYC, but have a weekend home here. Even though we’ve been having a dry spell here the last month, the day of our scheduled shoot it was pouring. We waited the morning out & by the afternoon it had stopped. So we decided to take the risk. And I’m so excited we did! The overcast lighting & puddles left behind were perfect!! Our couple had a rough start for the morning & missed out on coffee. So to get them energized we hit up none other than Strongtree Organic Coffee of course to do the job!

Then it was across the street to the train station! Always love us some train track shots.

And then we have the every so fun ring shots. Each photo shoot we try to get creative to show off the ring. I spotted a park bench down by the waterfront that I thought would be perfect! This was my take on it…

And this was Jesse’s perspective. Both used a different lens to get two totally different views from the same spot. I like his better!

Had to get the lighthouse in because our original plan was to incorporate it into our shoot, but it was too crowded.

While driving around, Jesse spotted this gorgeous abandoned building so we had to take advantage of it & I love how they turned out! Awesome babe!!

Our last stop was the entrance to Club Helsinki. We just loved the work they’ve done on this building! Provided the perfect little hide away for some romantic shots.

The owners spotted us & came out to see what we were up to. So they were nice enough to take us inside to get a grand tour of the facility. Just loved the grand room upstairs & had to take advantage of these amazing chairs!

Remember last week when it was 100+ degrees here in the Hudson Valley, well we had an e-session scheduled w/ one of couples who will wed in September. So why didn’t we just reschedule you say? Well, it’s because this couple lives in Switzerland & were only here a few days which happened to be right during the week of our heatwave. So unfortunate for them, we had to go forward w/ it & they were such troopers. Alexandra even had her hair & makeup done for a wedding trial, & I must say both fared really well. Now know it can stand the test of intense heat & sweat! As you will see from the time we spent w/ this amazing couple, smiles & laughs galore! They gave us the impression they were nervous for this photo session, but I now know they were pulling our leg. Alexandra has the most infectious smile! You just can’t help smile too

Jesse happened to catch this shot while I was adjusting my camera. These two are so adorable, I can’t stand it!

The Ring!

They made it look like a breeze despite how hot it was. I know it was intense for them to stand in the sun like this, but they did it because we asked them too. Love you guys for that!

So, I realized I hadn’t finished my post from a couple of weeks ago when we got to go on an amazing hike in the woods for an engagement session. When I first met this couple last fall & they were telling me the details of their wedding, they had me at ” a mile hike into the woods to a waterfall.” How could I refuse & was so excited when they decided to work w/ Jesse & I. So it was only natural to do a trial run for this soon to be wedding in the woods w/ their e-session. We had such a great day for it & can only hope for the same next month. Here’s a peak to see what we have in store for next month’s wedding.

Yesterday we met w/ one of our engaged couples right here in Hudson. The weather was really bad in the morning, getting much needed rain, but it looked like we would might have to cancel. I decided that we go for it @ our scheduled time & I’m so happy we did! It stopped raining & the light was perfect. Even came across some awesome puddles! Stay tuned for more to come…

This past Friday we had an e-session @ the same location as this couple’s wedding site is to be. Not only is it in the woods, but it’s a mile and half hike to get to. We were so psyched & one of the biggest draws to shooting their wedding! What an awesome experience. So here are a couple of pics to wet your appetite…

Time is getting away from me. Been a super busy week w/ photo shoots! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, but I just get frustrated when I can’t get my favorite pics up on my blog fast enough to show my clients. So, wanted to finish up w/ Tues. e-session w/ our sweet & adorable couple who we met @ Poets Walk in Red Hook. The day was gorgeous, & the weather couldn’t have been more perfect! There were so many neat spots to use as backdrops & incorporate lots of different aspects of nature, which was right up this couple’s alley.

They were even brave enough to take a walk in the high grass, one of my favorite places to photograph my couples. Reminds me of summer love, & that’s what this session was all about!

Another one of my fav places to photograph is the woods. Trees offer so much character to a picture, w/ their amazing texture & vibrant green glow!

One of my favorite’s of the day. We were headed to an amazing gazebo made from tree trunks & branches.
