So being in the wedding business, I know that w/ the recession still @ hand, it’s been hard on many couples to really get the wedding of their dreams while being on such a tight budget. One of my favorite wedding blogs is Once Wed. They are a really unique site where I’ve found much inspiration w/ my photography point of view. I’ve highlighted them before, but this time wanted to share their page on used wedding dresses. They don’t have a huge selection, but if your wedding is far enough away & if you check back often enough…you might just find what you are looking for. The gowns are beautiful, warn once, & very reasonably priced. It’s worth taking a look anyway or passing it along to someone else. Well, that’s my tip of the week.

I came across this website & felt this was a great organization to highlight. Not only am I trying to do my part to live a greener lifestyle, but this cause is near & dear to my heart since my mom is a breast cancer survivor. I’ve often wondered what do you do with this dress you only get to wear once & then pack away? Do you hope to have a daughter & then wait 20+ years to find out she doesn’t want to wear it. What a waste. Or better yet, you have 2 boys like me with absolutely no hope of seeing it worn again. Winter finally had arrived for us in Hudson, NY this passed Tues. So my friend Sarah & I decided to get together & do something neither of us had done before. Step outside our comfort zone. I heard of “trash the dress” sessions before, but I didn’t want Sarah to have to do anything extreme in her wedding dress, so we kept it safe. It was a very chilly, windy afternoon on Wednesday, but I think Sarah rocked her frock like a champ. The sky was amazing that day, as you can see in the photos, that added a lot of dramatic effect I think. Hoping maybe to do this some more. Something I’d like to offer my brides past and present. Maybe, we’ll stick to some warmer weather though. Thank you Sarah for doing this with me. I had a lot of fun & hope you enjoy your pics.
