Mike & Sarah ~ Love on the Farm

I got to meet up w/ one of my  couples this past weekend for an engagement session. When it came time to decide on the location for the shoot, they decided to go w/ the place where they were having their wedding, Apple Barn Farm, one of my favorite venues to shoot! So I was super excited about this shoot because I had only shot weddings there, never an e-shoot. And what a beautiful day we had for it!

These two had no problem showing their playful side & let their inner child come out & play!

I think this was my favorite shot of the session! Love it when my couples let loose & have fun!!

I was happy  too that they brought their dog along & included him in a couple of their shots! He is the ring bearer btw, which I can’t wait to see!!

Thank you to Mike & Sarah for spending some time w/ me. I had fun w/ you guys & I’m looking forward to the big day in October!

Wedding in the Country

Another wedding @ one of our favorite venues, Apple Barn Farm. What a gorgeous day it turned out to be too. The wedding the day before was really chilly, so I dressed in layers for this wedding & it turned out to be a bit humid. Go figure with east coast weather. Anyway, it was a nice surprise by everyone, especially since it was another outdoor ceremony. So much detail & preparation went into to this wedding, we were afraid to leave anything out. One of my favorites was the bride’s outfit. She found this top @ Anthropologie & since she couldn’t find a skirt to match, she found a bed sheet from Bed Bath & Beyond that did & designed a skirt herself sewn by Lucksmee Blakemore. Just love the detail in the blouse.
?

Absolutely loved that she incorporated her something blue in the form of her shoes!!!

Flowers were made of dried sumac berries, hydrangea, and pheasant feathers…made by the brides’ mother

The groom came from a large family with six siblings

Don’t know if there was any opportunity for tears @ this ceremony w/ the bride cracking up @ every opportunity. She kept the crowd laughing for sure.

The whole group. We’ve seem to have gotten this routine down to a science

I love all my couples, how can you not…it’s their wedding & they are in love. But I had a truly amazing time photographing these two. Just adorable!!

Cool idea of engraving their wedding date in their rings

Ashley really couldn’t hide the fact that she was having an amazing time, even if she wanted to. This girl was all about the laughter & I was loving it!

Don’t know how many guests noticed this amazing site, but on our way out to leave, Jesse saw all this fog in the field nearby & captured this image. Not as gorgeous as we saw it, but you get the idea

Pies were from Smith’s Orchards in Charlton, NY (absolutely delicious)
Band was called Cloud Nyne (phenomenal)

Thank you to Ashley & David for allowing us to be apart of your special day. We had a blast & you guys made us feel so comfortable with how relaxed you were about everything. Your eye for detail to make this a truly personal day paid off for sure. A truly beautiful event!

Dave & Becky

So, here is the continuation from my last post. There were just so many great shots that I wanted to share from our latest wedding shot @ Apple Barn Farm, in upstate NY. The day started off with Becky getting her makeup done by Tony of Eprac Meid Makeup. Before I arrived to start shooting, she had gotten her hair done by a local vendor from Hudson, Bodhi Studio. Becky was already glowing from excitement.

This had to be one of my favorite dresses yet. A Vera Wang creation that was absolutely gorgeous & just loved the whole ruffle going down the one side. Becky even had a pocket made out of part of it so she could keep a tissue & her vows tucked away.

Getting a peak of the ceremony. Thought Jesse captured this moment perfectly of Becky right before her parents were to walk her down the aisle.

These two were so adorable. Lots of laughter which is always a great start to marriage.

Here’s a good shot of the pocket I had mentioned earlier. I thought it was genius.

I think Becky’s expression just says it all after they were announced husband & wife.

A little champagne to celebrate the festivities.

The sky may have been overcast, but it created the most perfect light. These two were just so stinking cute. Beautiful couple.

A Jewish tradition calls on guests to entertain the bride and groom by dancing at their wedding. The circle dance, or hora, is a traditional and favorite selection, one that Becky & Dave had chosen.

This was such a fantastic wedding. Lots of fun, laughter, & good times had by all. Thank you to Becky & Dave for allowing us to be apart of your special day. Congratulations!

FLORIST: Linda Baldwin Flowers from Pine Plains, NY
DJ: Pat Pierson from Hoboken, NJ
CATERER: Fresh Company from Garrison, NY
REHEARSAL BBQ: Hickory in Kingston, NY

Jon & Tracey

This past weekend I had the privilege of working @ my favorite venue, Apple Barn Farm in upstate NY. The weather all week up to the wedding on Saturday had been chilly & rainy, but we ended up with the most perfect day for this couple. The cool breeze, sunshine, & big, puffy white clouds were idealistic for photos. Jon & Tracey were such a laid back & easy going couple that it made our job so much easier. I even loved the fact that she walked down the isle barefoot.

This place has so many great locations for photos. These were a couple of my favorites.

To help her guests enjoy the natural surroundings & feel more relaxed she provided flip flops for everyone to wear at their leisure. Great idea, especially when you’re dealing with an outside setting (heals + soft ground = muddy shoes).

The bride added a special touch to distinguish her flip flops by putting bows on them.

It seems more & more people are going with the non traditional wedding cake & using cupcakes instead. I’m a huge fan of this, especially since I’ll choose a cupcake over a piece of cake any day. A friend of the family was talented enough to provide these gorgeous cupcakes, that were so delicious & presented beautifully with the added touch of candles.

This couple really wanted their guests to have great time. So bubbles, balls, & hula hoops were provided for everyone to use. Even the bride’s mom & sister in law took full advantage of this.

Alisa & Jack

Another gorgeous day we had on Saturday for another beautiful wedding in upstate NY. This one was held @ Apple Barn Farm. There was a threat of rain, but it never came. Just sun & a cool breeze. It got a bit windy for the outdoor ceremony, the bride even lost her veil. It made for great memories though & everyone had a great time. I just love that this bride put so much effort into making their wedding day, a very special & personal day as well. Most of the people she used were from one of my new favorite sites @ Etsy. From the bridesmaids necklaces which each had a diamond from her grandmothers ring, to the cake toppers, to the bouquets, hair pieces, boutonnieres, & dog collar which I think were my favorite handmade accessories. Hand crafted using fabrics & buttons, each was truly unique piece to treasure for years to come. The bride was so nice as to have a pin made for me. I was really excited about that (thanks, Alisa). The dresses were designed by Yvonne, who is based in Brooklyn where you can design your own depending on your wants & needs. This was truly a wedding all who came & were a part of will remember especially because of all the love that was put into it so as to make it personal for all.

Jeff & Marisa

What an unbelievable day this couple had. It couldn’t have been a more perfect fall day. I shot another wedding at this location 2 weeks ago, so it was nice having a familiar setting. Apple Barn Farm is the place to be if you are looking for a rustic wedding in the country. These two really utilized the surroundings. From the bride coming in on horseback, to the wedding party hayride, a true country wedding is what they delivered. These two really new how to show their guests a good time and truly memorable moments.
