Jim & Kristin ~ Olana State Park, NY

I wanted to share a few images from an engagement session we had last month @ Olana State Park in upstate NY. We had the most perfect day for this session & I loved that Jim & Kristin chose this site. It’s one of our favorite local places to visit because it’s so beautiful & unique! The building offers so much character, color, & personality when using it in the foreground. I just love this building so much!! If you have never visited this state park, I definitely recommend visiting @ least once.

Love all the different colors, contrast, & texture in this spot of the building!! I mean really, can you stand it?!

We thought this was pretty amazing. Jim had her engagement ring duplicated w/ a ring designed by a computer -assisted program, & had it 3D printed in stainless steel. Pretty awesome if you ask me!!

We are so excited for these guys as their wedding approaches next month, which is to be @ another local site, Apple Barn Farm in Livingston, NY. Stay tuned for their beautiful upstate NY barn wedding!!

Jim & Kristin are getting married…

and we can’t wait for it!  Apple Barn Farm in October is amazing and these two landed a great weekend.  We returned one of our favorite local spots, Olana State Park to enjoy the milder break in weather & came away with some great shots.  The unique invitation is undoubtedly just the beginning of the attention to detail we can expect at this event.

We have a lot more to share before October 16th to whet your appetite!

Mayah ~ Senior Portraits

So I’ve been trying to branch out in different directions w/ my portraits & seniors have been away I’ve been trying to do that for awhile. I haven’t had as much experience in this avenue, but I know how much fun I’ve had in the past doing them which is why I really want to continue w/ senior portraits. I had the pleasure of meeting Mayah a couple weeks back @ a family portrait session I was shooting. She was a family friend who lived nearby & we hit it off. So I was very excited when she asked me to shoot her senior portrait session!! Again the weather was on our side because it had called for rain, but fortunately held off for us. Mayah was such a great girl to work w/ & was so easy going. The only problem is going to be choosing one for the yearbook because we may have gotten carried away a bit. I hope she had as much as I did…made me wish I had done something like this so long ago for mine!

Tim & Lisa ~ The Round Hill

It’s always exciting for us to shoot @ new venues & last week we had the opportunity to photograph a wedding @ the Round Hill. The house has an old southern manor feel to it, & the interior was very warm & inviting…like someone lived there year round. The grounds were beautiful & in full bloom. Something that was very important to the bride & groom. With the extreme heat & dry summer, they were worried it might all be dried up, but they really maintain the grounds very well. We kept our couple separate until the ceremony so I stayed w/ Lisa while Jesse hung out w/ the guys.

Lisa getting some assistance from her sisters & I just adore the image on the right of Lisa’s sister in the mirror!

Lisa looked absolutely stunning in this gown!!

The ladies wearing “lipstick” colored dresses. Great color for summer!

The guys, not so tame as our ladies. Might be the fact they are in a rock band? Just saying…

Beautiful ceremony site! So happy for them it didn’t rain.

The gang doing there thing!

I’m absolutely in love w/ Lisa’s sapphire engagement ring! These were my favs that Jesse got…LOVE!!

Stay tuned for images from the reception to follow. We used a new backdrop for our photo-booth & we are so excited w/ how it the photos turned out! So check back soon for some highlights!

Hot Spot Family Reunion

Last week I got to meet a wonderful family who was getting together for their mom’s 80th b-day. Since most of the family has migrated to California, it also had a warm family reunion feel to the weekend. One of the families still live here in NY, so this is where everyone decided to come together to meet. Near the home, is a small bunk house they call “hot spot”…which I can say lived up to it’s name the day of the photo session. It was a gorgeous spot though, w/ views of the mountains  in front & a field behind w/ wild flowers. They were all such good sports too, but thankfully the cabin provided a nice shady place for us to get some relief from the hot sun that day.

Thank you guys for letting me spend a few hours w/ you last week. I really had a great time & fell in love w/ the area! Hope I can come back for other portrait sessions in the future.

Mike & Sarah ~ Love on the Farm

I got to meet up w/ one of my  couples this past weekend for an engagement session. When it came time to decide on the location for the shoot, they decided to go w/ the place where they were having their wedding, Apple Barn Farm, one of my favorite venues to shoot! So I was super excited about this shoot because I had only shot weddings there, never an e-shoot. And what a beautiful day we had for it!

These two had no problem showing their playful side & let their inner child come out & play!

I think this was my favorite shot of the session! Love it when my couples let loose & have fun!!

I was happy  too that they brought their dog along & included him in a couple of their shots! He is the ring bearer btw, which I can’t wait to see!!

Thank you to Mike & Sarah for spending some time w/ me. I had fun w/ you guys & I’m looking forward to the big day in October!

Dulci

After months of having to reschedule, I was finally able to meet up w/ a family who I first photographed when Miss Dulci was firstborn. Now, 9 months later we got a chance to meet up again. Mom decided to have me meet them @ the beautiful grounds of Vanderbuilt Mansion in Hyde Park, NY. It was pretty humid out so we stayed under the trees & out of the sun. It was such a treat for me to get to photograph this little girl again. I grew up w/ her mommy so it’s always nice to get to see your friends having kids. Even though we don’t get to see each other often these days, this was an extra special experience for me.

She was just loving the grass…a little too much for mom @ times. Had to keep picking grass out of her mouth in between shots.

I love it when babies make the funniest expressions & faces. This was my favorite of hers!

Just look @ these cheeks! Makes me just want to reach out & give them a big squeeze!!

I bought this bucket along to try it out for the first time. Miss Dulci wasn’t really into sitting in it, so this was my only shot. But I love it!

Dulci is a pretty serious baby, but we did get a few smiles from her @ times which made me happy!

I also bought a tutu that I haven’t gotten to use either. Dulci was my first model & I just think she looks so cute in it! Makes me want a little girl so bad!!

About an hour into our session, dad finally got to make it for a few shots. By this point Dulci was getting tired & hot, but dad worked his magic so we could get a few family photos!

I love this picture! I asked dad to put Dulci up on his shoulders & she had other ideas. This is her trying to get off his shoulders, guess it wasn’t her thing. LOL

Snuggle time w/ dad. Can you say, daddy’s girl? So stinking cute!

This is Miss Dulci contemplating what to do w/ these flowers.

She quickly caught on & then we had to say goodbye to the flowers before the flowers went goodbye

Thank you to Gina & Mike. I’m so happy we were able to get together & I got to see how much Dulci has changed since I last photographed her. What a gorgeous little girl you have!
